Help with Searching the news
There are several ways you can search for news articles on the News page.
On the left of the screen, the Latest Funding News displays a list of the news articles which have been added to the site most recently. Clicking on the headline of a particular article will display the text of the article in full.
At the bottom of the list there is a link to view all news articles. Click this link to display all of the articles in the news archive.
The box in the upper right side of the page allows you to search for articles using keywords. Simply click in the box with your mouse and then use your keyboard to type in the term or terms you wish to search on. Next select whether you want to search for words in the whole article, or if you want to restrict the search to words in the headline only.
You then need to specify whether you wish the search to return articles containing any of the words you have entered, all of the words you have entered, or the exact phrase. Do this by ticking the button next to the option you wish to use.
- If you search on any words, your results will contain any of the words you entered. So if you type in health education, the results will include articles that contain the words health, and also articles that contain the word education.
- If you search on all words, your results will contain all of the words you entered. So if you typed in health education, the results will contain the words health AND education.
- If you search on exact phrase your results will contain all the words in the exact order you typed them.
After entering your search criteria click on the Search button to carry out your search.
You also have the option to browse the news archive by month and year. To do this simply click on the drop-down menus and select the month and year you want to search for. Your selection will then appear in the boxes labeled month and year. Then click the Search button to carry out your search and display articles in your chosen month and year.
